Team Style Director: Michael Quinn With nothing but big dreams and a few quid, Michael opened his first salon in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone 14 years ago. His creative flair and friendly approach soon brought in a huge, loyal clientele. Moving to Belfast was necessary to achieve his long-term goals, so he took a leap of faith and moved to the trendy Cathedral Quarter location that is home to the salon today. With its reputation for cutting edge design and unique atmosphere, Michael Quinn Hairdressing is certainly amongst the best in Northern Ireland. Michael has continued to add to his already vast expertise by training with the International Style Team from Vidal Sassoon and is a member of Matrix’s International Artistic Team, He is no stranger to creating award winning hairstyles and prides himself in his attention to detail. As one of the strongest forces on the fashion map, Michael’s work is in constant demand, with requests regularly coming from UTV and the BBC, as well as every major fashion event in Northern Ireland. Michael’s successes also include directing Belfast Fashion Week since 2006, creating the looks of the models and celebrities at the Fate Awards, and being asked to join the panel of Magner’s Light Style Awards. He and his team have reached the final 3 times for the Loreal Colour Trophy, 3 times for the Irish Hairdressing Awards and Michael is currently one of the 6 hairdressers up for Northern Ireland Hairdresser of the Year in the British Hairdressing Awards for the second consecutive year. As the local favourite of Hollywood actress Rose Magowan of “Charmed” fame, the hairdresser of choice for Mischa Barton’s Belfast visit, and a host of other A list celebrities to his credit, it’s no wonder clients constantly flock in to Michael and his team for a bit of star treatment and that his courses fill up quickly with hairdressers dying to know his style secrets.

Michael Quinn claims he fell into hairdressing by accident, but some might say it could only be fate. While always interested in hair and fashion, Michael didn’t consider it as a profession until he was asked by a friend to model in a hairdressing competition. At the show he couldn’t resist styling the mannequin hair and so impressed one of the teachers that he was offered a place on a course...and as they say, the rest is history.
